Signing In and Setting Up Your Convert Account

What it is This is the very first thing you'll do on Convert: creating your account, verifying it, and setting up your workspace. It takes you from the sign-up page to your dashboard, ready to connect a channel and send your first message. Why it matters Everything else in Convert, campaigns, contacts, templates lives inside a workspace tied to your account. Getting this first setup right (verifying your phone and email, naming your organisation correctly) means your workspace is properly configured from day one, and it's also what unlocks the "Get set up" checklist that guides you through connecting a channel, adding contacts, and launching your first campaign. Before you start Have ready: - A work email address (or a Google account you're happy to sign up with) - A phone number you can receive a verification code on, Convert tries WhatsApp first, then falls back to SMS - Basic info about your organisation: its name, industry, country, and timezone How to set it up: step by step Step 1: Go to the sign-up page You'll land on Convert's sign-up screen, "Powering African conversations." You have two options: Continue with Google, or fill in the form manually with your first name, last name, email address, organisation name, and a password. Click Create account once you're done (or Continue with Google if using that option). Step 2: Tell Convert about your organisation After signing up, you'll land on a 3-step setup wizard: Organisation → Phone → Done. On the first step, fill in: - Organisation name - Industry - Country - Timezone Click Continue. Step 3 — Verify your account Next, enter your phone number (with country code). Convert sends the same six-digit verification code to both your registered email and your phone — it tries WhatsApp first, then SMS if needed. Click Send verification code, then enter the six-digit code you receive into the code field, and click Verify and continue. Step 4: You're ready to go Once verified, you'll see a confirmation screen: "You're ready to go." Click Go to dashboard to enter your workspace. Step 5: Complete the "Get set up" checklist Your first stop inside Convert is the "Get started with Convert" page, with a Get set up checklist (0/4 steps): 1. Connect a channel set up WhatsApp or SMS so you can reach customers 2. Create a reusable message template 3. Add contacts and build your audience 4. Launch your first customer campaign Work through these in order, connecting a channel first makes everything after it (templates, contacts, campaigns) actually usable. Signing in (returning users) If you already have an account, click Sign in from the sign-up page instead. You'll use the same method you signed up with your email and password, or Continue with Google if that's how you originally registered. Final checklist - Account created (via Google or email/password) - Organisation name, industry, country, and timezone set - Phone number verified with the six-digit code - Reached the "You're ready to go" confirmation screen - Landed on the dashboard's Get set up checklist - First checklist item (Connect a channel) started Common problems Didn't receive the verification code: Check both your email inbox (including spam) and your phone's WhatsApp/SMS. Use Send a new code if a few minutes pass with nothing arriving. Entered the wrong phone number: You can re-enter your number before requesting a new code; just make sure the country code matches (Convert defaults to +234 for Nigeria). Email already registered: Use Sign in instead of signing up again, or reach out to support if you believe you never created an account. Google sign-in doesn't match your work email : You can still sign up manually with your work email and a password instead of using Google. Stuck on the setup wizard: Refresh the page; your progress on completed steps (shown with a checkmark) is generally preserved. What's next Once you're on the dashboard, the natural next step is connecting your first channel, see our guide on connecting WhatsApp (or SMS/Email, depending on where your customers are) to start reaching them.
