Connect your Meta Pixel to Ruut's Conversions API to send conversation events server-side for better ad attribution and retargeting — no code required.

What is Meta Conversions API?
If you run Facebook or Instagram ads, Meta Pixel helps you understand what people do after interacting with your ads.
However, browser privacy settings and ad blockers can prevent some events from being tracked.
Meta Conversions API (CAPI) solves this by sending events directly from Ruut to Meta.
Once connected, Ruut can automatically tell Meta when important actions happen, such as:
-
A customer starts a conversation
-
A customer sends a message
-
An agent replies
-
A conversation is resolved
-
A customer leaves a satisfaction rating
This gives Meta more information to measure your ads and build better audiences.
Tip: You don't need to remove your existing Meta Pixel. Pixel and Conversions API work together.
Before You Start
You'll need two things from Meta:
1. Your Meta Pixel ID
Go to Meta Events Manager and select your Pixel.
You'll find your Pixel ID near the top of the page.
It usually looks like this:
123456789012345
2. Your Access Token
In Meta Events Manager:
-
Select your Pixel
-
Open Settings
-
Find Conversions API
-
Click Generate Access Token
-
Copy the token
Keep your Access Token private. Treat it like a password.

That's it.
Once connected, you'll see a green indicator showing that Meta Conversions API is active.
What Ruut Sends to Meta
Once connected, Ruut automatically sends supported conversation events to Meta.
| Event | What it means |
|---|---|
| Conversation Started | A customer starts a new conversation |
| Message Sent | A customer sends a message |
| Agent Replied | An agent replies to the customer |
| Conversation Resolved | The conversation is marked as resolved |
| Customer Satisfaction Rated | A customer submits a CSAT rating |
| File Uploaded | A customer uploads a file |
You don't need to manually send these events. Ruut handles them automatically in the background.
Where Can I See My Events?
Open Meta Events Manager and select the Pixel connected to Ruut.
New events should begin appearing within a few minutes.
You can use these events to:
-
Measure conversions from your ads
-
Build Custom Audiences
-
Retarget customers
-
Understand which ads lead to conversations
-
Improve campaign attribution
How Does It Work?
When something happens in Ruut — for example, a customer starts a conversation — Ruut sends the event directly to Meta's Conversions API.
This happens securely in the background and doesn't slow down your inbox.
Where applicable, customer information such as email addresses and phone numbers is hashed before being sent to Meta.
